Our Mission
We're building the future of technical hiring. EasyEnv empowers engineering teams to assess real skills in production-like environments, making hiring faster, smarter, and more reliable. No more guesswork-just actionable insights from authentic assessments.
What is EasyEnv?
EasyEnv is a platform for spinning up real, ephemeral Linux environments in seconds. Each workspace is one or more virtual machines provisioned from a recipe- a reusable blueprint that installs the languages, databases, services, and CLI tools your team actually uses. No more "it works on my machine," no more day-long onboarding, and no more brittle Docker compose files duct-taped to laptops.
We started EasyEnv because the modern dev environment had quietly become a productivity tax. Engineers spend hours getting Postgres, Redis, Kubernetes, or Kafka running locally, only to debug environment drift instead of shipping features. Hiring teams faced the same problem at a different angle: candidates were being assessed on toy LeetCode puzzles that have nothing to do with the systems they would actually maintain. EasyEnv solves both at once by making production-like Linux environments cheap, instant, and shareable.
Why production-like environments matter
Sandboxes lie. A puzzle in a stripped-down REPL tells you whether someone can solve a puzzle in a stripped-down REPL-it tells you almost nothing about whether they can ship production software. Real engineers debug logs, read configs, talk to a database that already has data in it, and reason about a service that talks to other services.
EasyEnv puts candidates and teammates in front of a real machine with real services running. They can break things, fix things, install packages, write migrations, and hit endpoints. Sessions are recorded end-to-end, terminal activity and the candidate screen, so reviewers see exactly how someone worked, not just what they produced. That is what closes the gap between assessment and reality.
Who EasyEnv is for
Engineering hiring teams
Hire faster with assessments that mirror real engineering work. Take-home projects, live debugging exercises, and full session replay-so you hire on signal, not vibes.
EasyEnv for hiring →Engineering teams
Standardize dev environments across a team. New hires are productive on day one. Existing engineers stop fighting their laptops and start shipping.
EasyEnv for teams →Developers using Claude
Pair Claude with a real Linux machine and your repo. VS Code in the browser, your tools pre-installed, your code one click away. Bring your own Claude account-no vendor lock-in.
Claude on EasyEnv →How we build EasyEnv
Real Linux, not a sandbox
Every workspace is a real VM running on GCP, your own cloud, or your on-prem environment, with full systemd, kernel access, and network isolation. The same machine your service would run on in production, not a stripped-down browser jail.
Recipes are open Ansible roles
Every recipe is a versioned Ansible role you can read, fork, and reproduce outside EasyEnv. We don't believe in opaque magic-your environment should be inspectable.
Private networking, no public exposure
Boxes connect over a private mesh network. SSH and port access flow through authenticated proxies. Workspaces never sit on the open internet, even briefly.
Bring your own keys
Use your own Claude API key, your own GitHub OAuth, your own SSH keys. We're a platform for your tools, not a walled garden that holds them hostage.
