EasyEnv runs candidates on a real Linux VM with a full toolchain (Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, the language of choice) instead of a sandboxed editor. You assess engineers on production-like work: debugging, configuring services, reading logs. CoderPad and HackerRank assess code in a stripped-down REPL. You can also choose, by interview type, whether candidates may use AI. When you allow it, the recording shows exactly how they direct the model and review its output, so you score the collaboration, not just the answer.

Yes, and that is the point. EasyEnv lets you choose: block AI for fundamentals, allow it for AI literacy assessments, or score the candidate on how they direct the model. Session recording captures every prompt and response, so you grade the collaboration, not just the output.

A live interview is a shared workspace where interviewer and candidate join the same Linux machine for 30 to 90 minutes. A take-home is an independent assessment a candidate completes on their own schedule. Both record the full session, terminal activity and the candidate's screen, so reviewers can replay exactly what happened.

Each challenge is a workspace booted from an intentionally broken Ansible role. The candidate logs in, diagnoses the failure (broken nginx config, misrouted Kubernetes service, leaking goroutine, dead Postgres connection pool), and fixes it. We score on time-to-resolution and the quality of the fix.

Most teams launch their first interview within an hour. You pick a recipe (or template combining several), write or import questions, send the candidate link. No infrastructure to provision, no VPN setup, no Docker images to maintain.

Workspaces and recordings are stored in the EU. Candidates consent to recording before the session starts. We honor right-to-be-forgotten requests within seven days. Enterprise plans include a DPA. The full data-retention policy is at /privacy-policy.
