Helpers and Named Templates

Open a chart with more than one or two manifests and a pattern jumps out immediately: the same handful of lines show up in every file. The Deployment computes a resource name from the release and chart name, and so does the Service, and so does the Ingress.

The fix is not discipline, it is not having to retype the thing in the first place. Helm lets you write a snippet once, give it a name, and pull it into as many templates as you want. Change the snippet in one place and every manifest that uses it updates the next time you render. ...
