Triggers and Schedules
Part of the Jenkins course
A pipeline that only runs when somebody clicks Build Now is not continuous integration, it is a button. The value of CI comes from the builds nobody asked for: the one that catches a broken merge four minutes after it lands, the nightly that notices a dependency published a bad release overnight. All of that depends on the pipeline starting itself.
This lesson covers the three ways that happens: on a schedule, by polling, and by webhook. It also covers the job type that wires the last of those up for you and handles every branch and pull request without you configuring anything per branch. ...
