Whiteboard questions
Candidate diagrams the answer on an interactive whiteboard. The drawing is saved with the submission for manual review.
Whiteboard renders an interactive canvas the candidate draws on - boxes, arrows, freehand, text labels. EasyEnv saves the drawing with the submission and shows it back in the review panel.
When to use#
- System-design rounds where the answer is a diagram, not prose.
- Architecture sketches: "Draw the request flow for a serverless image-processing pipeline."
- Quick visual answers: "Sketch the binary tree after these inserts."
Form fields#
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Question Namerequired | Short title. | |
| Question Bodyrequired | The prompt the candidate sees above the canvas. | |
| Difficulty | enum | Easy / Medium / Hard / Expert. |
| Time | minutes | Estimated time per candidate. |
The form has no scoring section - whiteboards are reviewer-scored. The candidate-side panel shows "Whiteboard drawing · Candidates will diagram their solution on an interactive whiteboard."
How review works#
The reviewer sees the final state of the canvas plus, if they replay the session via rrweb, every stroke in chronological order. Score it manually using the same panel as text questions.
