Send interviews from Pinpoint
Connect EasyEnv to Pinpoint and send a candidate a hands-on interview without leaving their application. The status and the result come back onto the candidate in Pinpoint.
What the integration does#
EasyEnv appears inside Pinpoint as an action on a candidate. Pick an EasyEnv role, and EasyEnv emails the candidate an invitation to a hands-on interview in a real environment. As the candidate progresses, Pinpoint shows where they are, and once someone on your team reviews the work, the decision and the score breakdown land on the candidate record with a link to the full report.
Nobody has to leave Pinpoint to send an interview, and nobody has to copy a result back by hand. Candidates never see EasyEnv branding before they are invited, and they are only emailed once.
Before you start#
- You are an admin in both. In EasyEnv you need to be the account owner or an admin. In Pinpoint you need access to Settings, Integrations.
- The EasyEnv plugin is installed on your Pinpoint account. Pinpoint's integrations team installs it for you. Email
[email protected], or ask us at[email protected]and we will arrange it. - Your EasyEnv account has an active interview plan and at least one active role. Each interview a candidate starts uses one interview from your plan, exactly as if you had sent it from EasyEnv.
Connect the two#
One key, generated in EasyEnv and pasted into Pinpoint. That is the whole setup, and it is done once per EasyEnv account.
- Generate the key in EasyEnvGo to your account,
Integrations, and open thePinpointtile. ClickGenerate EasyEnv keyand copy it straight away: it is shown once and cannot be shown again. - Paste it into PinpointIn Pinpoint, go to
Settings,Integrations,My Apps, and openConfigureon EasyEnv. Paste the key into theEasyEnv API keyfield and save. Pinpoint stores it encrypted and never shows it again. - Check it tookBack on the EasyEnv tile, the panel says Connected. The line about Pinpoint not having called yet disappears the first time a recruiter opens the EasyEnv action.
Send an interview#
- Open the candidateIn Pinpoint:
Jobs,Manage Jobs, open the job, open the candidate. - Choose the EasyEnv actionFrom the three-dots menu on the application, pick
Send to EasyEnv. - Pick the role and sendThe form lists your active EasyEnv roles and fills the candidate's name and email from Pinpoint. Pick a role and submit. EasyEnv emails the candidate the invitation.
An assessment row appears on the candidate straight away, and the interview also shows up in EasyEnv under that role, as if you had invited them there.
Send automatically at a stage#
Instead of clicking for each candidate, let Pinpoint do it. Edit a stage in a hiring workflow, add a stage action, pick the EasyEnv action, and choose which role to send. Every candidate who reaches that stage is invited automatically, including bulk moves.
If an automatic send fails (an archived role, an inactive plan), Pinpoint lists it under Incomplete Actions with the reason, and you can fix it and run it again.
What Pinpoint shows#
Open the assessment on the candidate to see where the interview stands. The status follows the candidate, and the result follows your reviewer, not the automatic score.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Invited | pending | The invitation email has gone out. The candidate has not started yet. |
| In progress | pending | The candidate is working in their environment. |
| Awaiting | pending | The candidate submitted. Waiting for someone on your team to review it in EasyEnv. |
| Passed or Failed | completed | A reviewer accepted or rejected the candidate in EasyEnv. The result reads Accepted or Rejected, and your hiring team is notified once. |
| Expired | abandoned | The invitation window closed before the candidate started. |
| Incomplete | abandoned | The candidate started but never finished. |
Alongside the status you get the EasyEnv role, when the candidate started and finished, how long they spent, how many auto-graded questions they got right, how EasyEnv's AI reviewer rated the written and hands-on answers, and the final decision. The link on the record opens the full report in EasyEnv: the recording, every answer, and the reviewer's notes.
Settings and disconnecting#
- How long a candidate has to start is set on the EasyEnv Pinpoint tile, from 3 to 30 days. It applies to interviews sent from Pinpoint after you change it.
- Disconnecting removes the key, so Pinpoint can no longer send candidates or read results. Interviews already sent keep running, and nothing is deleted in EasyEnv.
If something looks wrong#
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| The form asks you to configure the plugin | Pinpoint has no key, or the key was replaced in EasyEnv. Generate a key and paste it into Configure again. | |
| The role list is empty | That EasyEnv account has no active, unarchived role. Create one, or unarchive the one you meant to use. | |
| A warning about your interview plan | The interview plan on the EasyEnv account is not active, so nothing can be sent until it is renewed. | |
| EasyEnv refuses the candidate email | That address already belongs to a member of your EasyEnv account, and a team member cannot also be their own candidate. Use the candidate’s own address. | |
| The status never changes | Check the EasyEnv Pinpoint tile. If it says Needs attention, it names what went wrong; otherwise contact [email protected] and we will look at that interview. |
[email protected] with the candidate and the role, and we will trace it from our side.
